20,000 Light Years is a quirky sci-fi / adventure / sit-com following the adventures and friendships of four human-ish kids: Nova, Zeke, Cosmo and Halo, along with Orbit (Zeke’s giant genetically engineered dog) and Tibbles (an alien who lives in Cosmo’s helmet).
The kids live on a massive interstallar-ship called the Coralie, on its epic journey of discovery and exploration at the wibbly-wobbly edge of the multiverse: over 20,000 light years from home. While the adult crewmembers are off doing whatever astronaut-explorers do, each episode follows the kids as they hop on the yellow TeeBUS and take safaris to bizarre and surreal moons and planets. Looking after them is robotic guardian, TeeBot42.
They hop around and explore on their jet-packs, jet-copters, jet-surfboards, jet-boots, jet-segways, jet-subs... if you can stick a jet on it, they’ve got it. The gang play, climb, jump, fall, eat, trick, dare, swim, build, dive, make, break, fix – and more – before safely returning to the Coralie having had a fun and fantasic experience and (usually) no lasting injuries.
